The Cobb County Commission voted 4-1 Tuesday night to approve a new $672 million stadium and entertainment complex, which officials hope to open for the 2017 season at a site 10 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta.

The vote came after public comment for and against the deal, which will require millions of dollars in public funds.

A diverse coalition of groups had asked the commission to delay the vote for 60 days so that the public could have more time to understand the details of the 30-year agreement.

Four of the five commissioners said they felt they had enough information to vote.
