ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — Ten years after it opened, the Borgata is unquestionably Atlantic City's dominant casino.
One out of every five dollars lost by gamblers here goes into the Borgata's coffers, and the casino takes in twice as much as most of its competitors each month.
Its challenge for the next 10 years is to stay on top of the 12-casino market even as competition in neighboring states and the advent of Internet gambling threaten to reshuffle the market.
Deutsche Bank managing director Andrew Zarnett predicts the Borgata will continue to be the market leader in Atlantic City. He credits their success to a great location, extensive research and talented management.
The casino's 10th anniversary is Tuesday.
