OhioHealth to expand Mansfield hospital

March 4, 2014

OhioHealth said it will invest $49 million in new construction as part of an affiliation with Mansfield-based MedCentral Health System that took effect on Saturday.

The expansion at the 326-bed OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield Hospital includes a 123,000-square-foot medical office building, a 10-suite surgery department, a parking garage, renovations, a community health education center and expanded orthopedic, heart and vascular services.

Construction will begin immediately and is slated to finish by fall 2015.

Columbus-based OhioHealth now has 12 hospitals and provides health services in 40 counties. Most recently, in January, O’Bleness Health System in Athens became a full member.
