Lombards furniture store closes after 64 years

Lombards Fine Furniture has shut its doors after 64 years.

The retailer filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on Sept. 30 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, declaring assets of $616,330.50 and debts of $1,007,466.97 to more than 100 creditors.

In August, the family-owned interior-design center and furniture showroom, at 2060 Crown Plaza Dr. on the Northwest Side, announced that Trent Heer was taking over from his father, Fred Heer.
