Much of Wexner’s interview with WBNS-TV’s Kristyn Hartman focused on his drive to devote as much energy to philanthropy as he spent building his business.
Addressing the Columbus Chamber audience was an honor, said Wexner via email following the event. “When you think about small business entrepreneurs driving the majority of job creation and accounting for half of all private sector jobs ... it is a real privilege for me to be able to spend time with such critical members of our community. I was and am an entrepreneur…and greatly appreciate the passion, time and investment they are contributing to Central Ohio.”
Columbus Chamber president Michael Dalby said Wexner was the Chamber’s “number one choice” for the debut of the CEO Insights leadership series. The Columbus Partnership helped facilitate Wexner’s appearance at the event. “You could have heard a pin drop in that room; they were locked on to every word,” said Dalby via email.
During her first interview with Wexner, Hartman said that Wexner surprised her a few times. “I found him to be gracious, candid, funny and kind,” said Hartman via email. “I most appreciated Wexner’s comments about his mentors. They were a heart-felt, meaningful part of the discussion with lessons for everyone.”
