The National Beer Wholesalers Association released its 2013 economic impact report over Labor Day weekend. According to state-by-state data collected from 95 distribution operations in Ohio, wholesale beer distributors such as Columbus Distributing Co. and Heidelberg Distributing Co. make a healthy contribution to the economy.

Wages and salaries paid by Ohio beer distributors: $324 million

Total Ohio beer distributor production value: $687 million

Number of jobs resulting from distributors' capital investments (buildings, vehicles, software, energy-saving technology and other equipment): 892

Wages resulting from distributors' capital investments: $42.8 million

Total production value resulting from distributors' capital investments: $127.9 million

Total local, state and federal taxes paid as a result of distributors' capital investments: $13.3 million

Total local, state and federal taxes paid as a result of direct and indirect impacts from Ohio beer distributors' operations:$337.2 million
