Columbus 2020's quarterly economic development report shows above-average employment gains in Central Ohio

All major industries in the Columbus region are experiencing job growth according to the 2013 Q2 Economic Update released today by Columbus 2020. The report is based on analysis performed by Columbus-based economics analysis firm Regionomics, the Columbus Chamberand Columbus 2020.

According to the report, the 11-county Columbus region saw an influx of 15,600 jobs, a 1.6% increase compared to second-quarter employment growth of 0.5% in Ohio and 0.4% nationally. Columbus region unemployment in June was reported at 6.2% compared to 7.2% statewide and 7.6% nationally. The government sector was the only area that declined.
