The expansion will take four years and will be located in Easton's northeast quadrant on 16 acres
Easton announced a $500 million new district that will house local and national retailers, restaurants and breweries, entertainment venues and hotels. It will be erected between the Town Center and Easton Gateway.
Components of the expansion are already being constructed and include new site, roadway and utility infrastructure additions; an extension of Worth Avenue to connect the two parts of Easton and the addition of Merchants Row, a street with smaller retail stores; a public greenspace called The Yard that will be a destination for live music and other entertainment, community organizations events and gatherings; and Urban Hearth—located in the middle of the new development—a social gathering space. Parking will also be added—two levels to the existing Macy’s garage and a new six-level garage, both of which add up to 1,500 new parking spaces. Design gallery RH Gallery will anchor the new extension as the first in Ohio and one of 17 in the nation. The 136-room Marriot’s Aloft Hotel concept will also open in the area in 2020 as a luxury hotel offering.
Easton Town Center has previously seen the expansions of the Fashion District in September 2001—the largest expansion until this one—that added new high-end fashion retailers such as Burberry, Louis Vuitton and Ohio’s first Nordstrom, the Fenlon expansion in 2013 that added family-focused retail such as American Girl and Build-A-Bear Workshop, and the 2014 addition of the Easton Gateway district that focused on larger retail spaces like Whole Foods, Z Gallerie, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Costco, The Container Store and REI.
The expansion comes as Easton Town Center is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary in July 2019.
