Some things are worth the wait, but we're not all willing to stand in line for the same things.

IKEA knows its customers are willing to camp out for new store openings, so it has already established a 48-hour maximum wait time for the 9 a.m. June 7 opening of its 44th US store at Polaris, announcing that customers may begin lining up on June 5. The IKEA website is counting the opening down to the second.

Decide for yourself whether to camp out for this Saturday’s 8 a.m. grand opening of a relocated Dollar General store at 3150 Hilliard Rome Rd.; the first 50 adults get a $10 gift care and the first 200 shoppers get tote bags with product samples.

Wait until next week for insights on business ethics. Ohio Wesleyan University is hosting its annual Heisler Business Ethics Lecture the evening of April 27 with a panel moderated by ethics expert Kip Morse, CEO of the BBB. Panelists will include PR firm CEO Bryan Haviland of FrazierHeiby, fashion brand founder Lubna Najjar of IL Moda and communications firm founder David All of OneNineNinety.

And the wait is nearly over for David All’s 5th Startup Storytellers. It unfolds Wednesday evening at the Columbus Museum of Art.

There should be no waiting with plenty of Big Table opportunities when the Columbus Foundation sponsors its second community conversation May 17. The foundation is accepting online registrations for hosts and expects to sign up at least 500 sites that will each host 8-12 participants with the common purpose of discussing strengths and challenges faced by central Ohio.

Just show up on April 26 to increase contacts in the arts community. A networking event, Arts Mixer 2017: Stop, Collaborate and Listen, is hosted by the Greater Columbus Arts Council at the STEAM Factory in Franklinton.

No standing in line needed to register online for these wait-worthy events:

A Skills of Happiness workshop the morning of April 27, presented by the New Albany Chamber of Commerce.

The 8th annual Columbus Creative Industry Mixer April 28 at Park Street Cantina.

Young professionals can network with emerging leaders at a YACG happy hour at Spagio on May 3.

Help honor recently retired United Way President and CEO Janet Jackson May 11 at the Breathing Association’s annual Mother’s Day luncheon at Villa Milano.
